The Simpsons Movie

The Simpsons Movie

Homer Simpson is used to alienating people, but nothing compares to the level of animosity he’s inspired with his most recent foul-up: polluting the river with toxic waste from the nuclear power plant. Now, Homer’s been fired and the citizens of Springfield forced to evacuate in this first-ever big-screen outing for Matt Groening’s animated clan. Dan Castellaneta, Julie Kavner, Nancy Cartwright and Yeardley Smith voice the Simpson family.

  1. Doh! Says:

The Simpsons have long been the gold standard for satirical animated TV and this long-awaited movie adaptation has plenty of laughs, plus an assortment of milestones for fans (Homer’s rendition of “spider pig” is comedy gold) but it would be a stretch to call The Simpsons Movie more than a extended TV episode, since the change in mediums adds nothing. Homer even jokes that it takes a sucker to pay for a show you can get for free on TV. D’oh!
