This movie 'Confession of Shopaholic' based on a growing problem of this hedonistic world of us. It tries to show that we are so attracted to the consumer commodities that we even forget place, time and person, means who I am, what is my capacity. Here, Rebecca Bloomwood is presented very neatly to describe it. She is a woman who can not set her limit to shopping and at a moment she is ready submerge herself up to her nose or more in debts for the sake of shopping. She has an addiction to it like one is addicted to opium. Her thirst becomes double when her columns become very popular and thus her job begets her more money. This adds oil to the flame whereas, it should have written off her debts. She forgets to ward off her previous debts and keeps on so much of shopping that it starts her dragging to new debts. While watching this movie I was thinking of a famous Indian movie, 'Judaai', starred by Anil Kapoor (the quiz master in the film Slumdog Millionaire), Shridevi and Urmila. In this film Shridevi was like Rebecca. She was so addicted to shopping that she sold her husband (Anil Kapoor) to a rich woman (Urmila) as Urmila fell in love with her husband and proposed Shridevi to pay Rs.10 million if she would give her marry with her husband. At the end of the movie Shridevi realized that money can not buy the mental peace and necessity what her husband and children can give her at ease. Likewise, here Rebecca finally understands what is important for her life and what an addiction is.
In my opinion, if Rebecca had lost her husband and career for this bad addiction of her and would later regain them with severe striving and realization that what is more essential in human life, then the movie would be more presentable.
Thanks.

I actually loved the movie, being somewhat of a shopaholic myself.I was actually reminded of Sex and the Cuty in so many ways while watching this movie. The plot starts like every girls perfect dream getting the dream job and the dream guy, only get complicated with a very unhealthy shopping habit. Overall loved the movie, its perfect to watch with your girl friends, a real chick flick.

Rebecca is a true addiction to ramble through the shops, what's causing huge hole in your account. Young dreams to a job in a fashion magazine, but only get a box at a financial newspaper in the same trust. Heading become very popular, and Rebecca feast on the palm celebrities achieved overnight. But when the passion for shopping affect her relationship with her boyfriend and career, it must urgently decide what's important in life.
